Psalms

In the middle of a painful divorce, my friend Jennifer prayed every day,

“What’s the holy thing to do?”

It’s a good thing we love coffee, because she would come to my house at five or six o’clock in the morning to pray and fill her cup with a single verse to sustain her through the day. Sometimes it didn’t last until the afternoon, and she’d show up again for a refill before dinner. Jennifer’s triumphant story is found in Chapter 3 of Can I Borrow a Cup of Hope? How to Find Faith for Hard Times in 1 Peter.

These Psalms filled Jennifer with hope when she was drained by daily trials and intense sadness, as God restored her faith and healed her broken heart.
